Reward for Tips leading to Excellent Photos!
I am always on the lookout for great pictures. Looking through my galleries will
give you some ideas of the types of pictures I like to take. But I am always
looking for new subjects.
Many pictures I take strictly for placing in Stock Photo libraries, marketing
and the personal enjoyment of the process. If you provide me with a tip that
leads to a great or excellent picture or series of pictures, I will reward you
with an 8x10 or double matted 4x6 (your choice) print of the best image.
If your "tip" leads to a family session or commercial/magazine job, I will of
course give a more substantial reward.
Wildlife
I am particularily interested in wildlife in the Calgary area (area means within
1 hour or so of my studio, North side of Calgary): Some on my personal desire
list currently are listed below, but if you know the predictable whereabouts of
other, perhaps common, perhaps rare wildlife, please let me know. Best initial
contact is through an email so I can make sure you are properly credited. Note,
it can be easier in Winter to find dens because many foot paths will lead
to/from the den.
-
Snowy Owl. Summer or Winter. (I met one gentlemant that swears that he has seen
Snowy Owls nesting around Calgary. According to the guide books this doesn't
happen, but if you know one, please let me know. And please do NOT disturb the
owl by coming too close to its nest. When I take the pictures I will be using a
long zoom and blind so it is not disturbed.
-
Burrowing Owl.
-
Ermine (Weasel) (looking particularily for white with snowy background. What I
need to do is find a den where I can set up a photoblind and leave it there for
a few days) In winter they are white with a black tipped tail. Look for "dot
dash" pattern in deep snow.
-
Porcupine
-
Skunk
-
Bats (do you have a bat house, perhaps with an ideal location for me to set up
and wait for dusk?)
-
Coyote. There is a pack 1/4 mile from my house on neighbours land. Due to
terrain there are no good photo locations without the risk of disturbing them.
They are tolerated in our neighborhood where they currently live, but at least
one neighbor has stated that if they find a new location for their den, they
may be shot. So... I don't want to risk distrubing them, and I will want to
make sure that anywhere else I shoot I won't be risking disturbing them. Better
to not get the photo. I am looking for summer, fall & winter shots.
